Afri-Co-Lab is built on the cultural mash-up of Ugandan & British culture. We celebrate this innovation as a way to challenge preconceptions. We also promote positive attitudes towards Uganda, countries of the African continent and the African diaspora community here in East Sussex and beyond.
We create bespoke workshops, courses, art installations and events that explore sustainable fashion practices; contemporary African and diaspora culture through a creative and ethical lens.
We have created projects and commissions for and with pupil referral units, schools/colleges, Good Stuff in St Leonards, Black Cultural Archives, Brighton Museum, DV8 Sussex, The V&A, Southbank Centre, The Royal Court, FabLab and Pop Brixton.
You can find us at Marine Court where we are showcasing and selling upcycled and locally made ethical goods; holding creative workshops; manufacturing upcycled fashion and thinking of ways to unleash your inner (or outer creative)!
Come say hey we are always on the look out for new friends and collaborators.
