The Hastings fleet was one of the first in the UK to be recognised by the Marine Stewardship Council.
Just under 20 beach launched boats fish between Dungeness and Beachy Head using eco friendly static nets which put less pressure on local stocks and on the sea bed.
Hastings is one of Britain’s oldest fishing ports. Boats have worked from the beach in front of the ancient town for over a thousand years, supplying Hastings with its basic industry and main tourist attraction.
