Who am I?
My name is Lee and for many years I've worked for charities working with either vulnerable adults in supported accommodation and/or the resettlement of people in and out of prisons & Young Offender Institutes. My interests are around the social sciences having worked & studied in this field for many years and also in social history, music, nature and after the financial crash - economics. I quit my job working for a large homeless charity to use my savings to set up an independent bookshop here in Hastings. I've never run my own business but I do have experience of running a national charity that provides free books to prisoners called Haven Distribution - http://www.havendistribution.org.uk/
This is my first venture being a sole trader (having always worked for employers), and hope to make it work. As a one-man band I hope to build the business albeit slowly whilst I get to grips with the retail trade and trying to get people into the shop.
